Paul Edwards qualified as a teacher and did not write his first piece of paid journalism until 1992. Nowadays, he spends most of his time reading, writing, watching cricket and walking. The latter is his preference, although it is often a necessity. He cannot swim, drive or even ride a bicycle. He lives in Southport and still teaches freelance, mostly between October and April. He writes for a wide variety of publications and websites and has played his part in the demise of some fine regional newspapers.
