About Fairfield Books

Fairfield Books was set up in 1997 by Stephen Chalke to publish his work and that of fellow cricket writers. Stephen’s own books have won five national awards and in 2019 the Cricket Writers’ Club presented him with the prestigious Peter Smith award for services to cricket.

Fairfield was taken over in 2020 by the publishers of Wisden Cricket Monthly and The Nightwatchman, with the aim of continuing the tradition of publishing excellent and interesting titles. The new Fairfield Books has published more than 20 original titles over the past five years, winning multiple awards and nominations including a trio of Wisden Book of the Year awards.
